As a ND fan I was thinking of heading up to Palo Alto to catch the last game of this historic season (my logic being should the Irish win against the Blue Devlis this upcoming weekend it might be interesting to see the Irish gain some mo heading into '08) so theWadeblogs was looking for some Irish / Cardinal tix on ebay when we stumbled upon a posting which earned a hearty chuckle.
The following ticket ad (complete with pencil) really sums up the sad state of the ND nation...
Up for grabs are two tickets to the upcoming Stanford Notre Dame football game (Sat., Nov. 24 @ 12:30 p.m.) The tickets are in section 218, row Z. See the Irish ruin their fans' Thanksgiving holiday with yet another devastating loss.......
PLUS...We will include all the tools you need to make it through the game - The winter 2008 simple crosswords double activity book and Easy "fast 'n' fun" Sudoku with over 180 puzzles! We will even include a FREE pencil! That's right, a FREE pencil. Bid now to take advantage of this amazing offer- tickets to an awful football game w/ (somewhat)challenging puzzlebooks.
Seriously you have to love the snarkiness of this poster and I hope that they get some big bucks for their innovative package. Keep in mind that prior to today the auction had topped off at a whopping .25 cents the past few days but it has since moved up to $5.51 (at the time of this posting.) Help the New Orleans native who posted this... let's bid it up... after all it is pretty much the only way Irish fans can enjoy running up a score in 2007.
theWadeblogs truly admires the craftiness of poster. The pencil promoting ad is really appropo given that fact that the Irish are facing a couple pencil pushing oppenents (Duke and Stanford) in their final two games. Seriously if ND can't beat these pencil pushers it really should be back to the drawing board for Weis and the coaching staff.
For all we know Charlie has had his own Soduku and Crossword books handy on Saturday afternoons... we wouldn't be surprised to learn if he had them attached to his clipboard during the past 10 games.
Forget crossing routes... maybe Charlie was just too preoccupied with doing crosswords during the game to call a half decent offense.
Since theWadeblogs doesn't think Charlie has a clue we thought we lend him a hand on some of the more puzzling clues he might encounter.
25. Down - 11 Letters (2 words)
What you might call a fan of the former Top 25 powerhouse and now laughing stock of College football...
DOOMED DOMER
11. Across - 9 letters
Collective term to describe ND's QB's, RB's, TE's, and lineman.
OFFENSIVE
