Who knows what 007's handicap is (we know he has a weakness for the lovely ladies and vodka martinis) but Sean Connery is an avid golfer who's real life handicap is around 7 and he recently has been shaken and stirred by a local country club. Connery contends the country club took advantage of his celebrity and now he is holding Sherwood to their word as he has a 16 year old contract stating upon termination he is allowed to collect 80 percent of their "going rate" which currently comes to over $500,000 (keep in mind in 1990 he was allowed to join for $35,000.) Evidently the scratch golfer is in need of some scratch as he is demanding a pretty (Money) penny... suing Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA literally one thousand times over for $1,000,000+.
We think Connery should go for the green and settle the score in a Caddyshackesque contest...
In doing some digging we discovered there are a lot of uncanny similarities between the current Connery case & the classic Caddyshack...
Connery vs. Caddyshack
In Connery's case Sherwood is the club in question | Bushwood was the club of choice in the movie
$500,000 membership fee is awaiting judgement | $80,000 was the wager bewteen Al Czervik and Judge Smails
Connery was knighted in 2000 | Caddyshack had its own Ted Knight
Sean Connery was known for landing some beaver | Carl spackler was preoccupied with hunting the gophers
